October 27, 2021December 12, 2022 by admin Week 4 1)The external painting is nearly finished and so is the cladded porch2) The Scullery is revealed with paintwork and a cladding to the fence still to be done3) Gravel has arrived to brighten up the frontage4) The Revealed Brickwork and sandblasted door look great5) See what we mean, how lovely is the old door now.6) Gents waiting for an antique mirror7) The Gents Loos are starting to look smarter with the new tiling8) The frame is ready for the glass portrait window9) The side Porch looks great now it is sandblasted too.10) The Chimney's are being made ready to accommodate two log fires and two log burners1) No it isn's a scene out of Mary Poppins! The pointing is done and the first fan for the fires is fitted2) That Sky dish is history3) More cementing before another fan is fitted4) Great view from up here5) Final fan is fitted. Six fires will be working in the pub and Private Dining Rooms6) A good reason as to why we have restored the chimneys, lots of cracked cement.7) Looks like we are half a rum barrel short!Old Rum barrels are fitted to the wall in refurb 0 comments
October 26, 2021December 12, 2022 by admin Week 3 1) Bar build is really coming along2) Bench seating is being built3) We will find a place for this I am sure4) New side to the bar gets built5) A new side to the bar is now in situ6) So much more space in the snug now7) An old reclaimed bar is used to face the larger snug8) Looking forward to a real log fire here!9) Builders a plenty now as we step up the pace10) Not a lot of space for all this sawing!11) wonder what will happen to this wall.12) Or indeed around this entrance to the Kitchen in refurb 0 comments
October 26, 2021December 12, 2022 by admin Week 2 1) The scaffolding is up and covered in order for us to expose some brickwork2) The painters are cracking on3) The kitchen exterior looks better in 'off black'4) The builders are moving in!5) The revealing of the red brick wall has been a great success6) Much nicer finish to the kitchen externals7) New bar build is coming together8) Now we are starting to look busy!9) Hard to imagine that this wall will house a back bar with many bottles of spirits indeed10) Amidst the carnage it is very difficult to see the ending11) This door will disappear and the dresser will house sinks in the ladies loo12) This will have a log burner in refurb 0 comments
October 26, 2021December 12, 2022 by admin Week 1 (The Strip Out) 1)-The-big-strip-out-starts2)-The-booths-have-all-gone3) The fire places are cleaned and the beams are sandblasted4) Two years of closure have taken their toll5) All the old bench seating has gone6) The beams are coming up well but it is a dusty business7) Looking forward to updating the snug8) Window repairs needed in the classic bay window9) I think this could be an opening when we start to open the place up a little10) Builders arrive on site as the sandblaster finishes the beams look great11) Look at the beams....the bar removal is next12) One pub wall has been stripped back to reveal the brickwork13) This stump may well present a challenge in refurb 0 comments
